-Okinawa- Explore the island of God with cats

Kudakashima is a small island located in southeast of Okinawa. The island has a Ryukyu (Okinawa) myth; Amamikiyo who is the god created Okinawa came down from heaven and created Kudakashima island first. Because of the myth and rich in nature, Kudakashima island called the island of god.

There are a lot of island cats live in Kudakashima as well🐈
Today, I will share my travel experience at Kudakashima for all island and cat lovers😉

How to access Kudakashima island?

   You can go to Kudakashima by ferry from Azama Port(50 min drive away from Naha airport). It takes about 15-25 min to the island, and the schedule can be found on twitter(@kudakaferry).

Usually there are 6 round trips in a day, so you can make a day trip if you want.

If you miss ferry, no worries. You can play with some fluffies living around the port😏💕

Explore Kudakashima with island cats

    Once you get the ferry off, you will feel the flow of time that passes slowly and peacefully. It seems like you are in different world from the busy everyday life. 

Kudakashima is only 8 km in perimeter, and you can rent a bicycle at the port if you want🚲

In Kudakashima, there are a lot of wild cats living and welcomed you.

They are so friendly and lovely🥰

You will meet variety kind of cats having variety kind of personality:)

Am I in heaven? I’m pretty sure that this situation will make every cat person crazy, and I'm the one of them 😂😂

By the way, Kudakashima has rich in nature that considered as the sacred place of Ryukyu myth.

There is no big mountain in Kudakashima, so you can hear the sounds of the sea wherever you are, isn't it so cool? It makes you to feel that you are in the island where god lives.

Cape Kaberu(Habyan) is the place where Amamikiyo came down from heaven. 

When you visit this cape, you will feel the mystical power.

After played with cats and explored god's island, it's time to eat island cuisine😋🍴

I went to Tokujin, a local restaurant located 2 min walk away from the port.

You can enjoy Okinawa's traditional cuisine and fresh local foods!

I choose Tempura made of local foods and Orion Beer🍺

Even salt made in Kudakashima. 

Tempura with salt and Orion Beer make the perfect combo😁😁

Make sure when you visit Okinawa, please try Orion Beer if you are drinking age. It is famous local beer only made in Okinawa:)
